If they play their cards right in the next few years, the Jaguars may have a shot at taking home the Lombardi trophy. #superbowl #jacksonvillejaguars #football

Something special is brewing in Florida and it’s not in Miami or Tampa Bay. Regardless of what happens in the coming weeks, the Jacksonville Jaguars have made some noise across the league. They went from being a disaster and a joke of a team to a playoff contender. If they play their cards right in the next few years, the Jaguars may have a shot at taking home the Lombardi trophy. Yes, the Jaguars have a bright future. They have turned their franchise around through one of the most simple strategies, but one of the hardest to execute: finding an amazing head coach to develop their franchise quarterback into a star and a leader.

The Jaguars have proven that having an outstanding coaching staff is vital to the success of a young QB and team. With Urban Meyer as the head coach, there was always turmoil in the locker room which played a huge part in the failure of Trevor Lawerence’s rookie season. It is extremely difficult to find the right head coach that matches the goal and direction of the organization and players within. But, the Jaguars absolutely nailed it. They hired a Super Bowl-winning head coach, Doug Pederson. He has built a team that can compete by making aggressive moves in the offseason by spending money in free agency and taking risks in the draft, as well as instilling a new mentality of winning.

Now, you have a leader like Pederson and his staff who bring the opposite to the table which totally flips the Jaguars’ script to a positive culture and future. They have simply turned the Jaguars into a team that plays hard and competes day in and day out. #coaching #coach #leadership

An overlooked aspect of the game is how the coaching staff interacts with its players. The passion and heart aren’t there when you have a coaching staff that has no culture and isn’t focused on having a relationship with the players. Urban Meyer and his staff proved how detrimental the lack of relationship with the players and negative culture could be. Everyone in the NFL is a professional athlete at the end of the day and they all have potential. It’s all a matter of how you can bring out the best in players and groom them to fit the mold of an NFL player coming out of college. The development of raw talent is key and finding the right person to initiate and execute that process is what makes stars. The Jaguars have done just that. They’re only scratching the surface of their bright future as they are beginning to do something that they haven’t been able to do in the past few years: be competitive. They have the opportunity to be this year’s Cincinnati Bengals and make a run for the championship if they can finish the season off strong by locking up the division title.

The Jaguars are in unfamiliar territory as they currently sit at the top of the AFC South. They control their own fate and look to cause some chaos this postseason if they can make it there. Trevor Lawrence has the opportunity to show that he can win at the next level and I believe he can do so. #winning #culture #positive
